Joanne Rupprecht

Joanne Rupprecht  is the supervisory associate  attorney at Watson & Associates, LLC. She primarily focuses in the government contracts and business law practice group. Her practice encompasses all aspects of federal government contracts law, including litigation, compliance, bid protests, claims and contract administration issues. Ms. Rupprecht assists large and small government prime contractors and subcontractors with federalFederal Government contract lawyer Colorado business procurement matters. She initiates and defends bid protests and other contract actions before the Government Accountability Office, the Court of Federal Claims, the military and civilian Boards of Contract Appeals, and other federal agencies. Ms. Rupprecht also assists clients in responding to US Department of Justice investigations and defense in fraud and False Claims Act cases.

As a Denver, Colorado lawyer, Ms. Rupprecht has substantial experience in medical industry clients and Colorado business law matters. She litigates and appeal government contract claims, termination for convenience and default and Colorado partnership and business law disputes. This includes breach of contract issues, business sales and purchases.

Ms. Rupprecht provides guidance on contract and subcontract negotiations, performance disputes, and the formation and administration of teaming and strategic alliances. She also counsels companies on compliance obligations relating to federal contracts. She assists companies in audits, investigations, and suspension/debarment proceedings. She provides advice regarding small business matters, including maintenance of small business status, affiliation concerns, and strategies for acquisition structures. Further, Ms. Rupprecht advises contractors on the avoidance and mitigation of organizational conflicts of interest.

Ms. Rupprecht began her formal education by completing her Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science/Biology at the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois. After graduation, Ms. Rupprecht was employed as a Research Scientist at the University of Chicago in the Department of Neurology and during that time, obtained aviation training in preparation for FAA licensure. Thereafter, Ms. Rupprecht worked as a Research Scientist, Medical Writer and Regulatory Affairs Specialist at Abbott Laboratories in Abbott Park, Illinois, where she directed clinical trial studies on cancer diagnostic product development, co-authored medical abstracts and patents and interfaced directly with federal government and international regulatory agencies for completion of regulatory requirements and resolution of compliance issues involving medical devices.

After relocating from Chicago to Denver, Ms. Rupprecht performed similar duties for a medical device company in Boulder, Colorado, while becoming more involved in community affairs and public service. Her desire to be a more effective advocate as a professional, community leader and volunteer resulted in her entering the University of Denver College of Law.

Following the completion of her legal education, Ms. Rupprecht was admitted to the Colorado Bar is qualified to practice in the U.S. District Court, District of Colorado in 2003.

Ms. Rupprecht has acted in the capacity of Lead Associate in national complex litigation (Multi-District Litigation [MDL]) cases involving matters of mass tort/personal injury, pharmaceutical, medical device and nutraceutical regulation, and other FDA-related issues, serving on the related Scientific Discovery Committees.

To further serve the needs of her clientele, Ms. Rupprecht received her real estate certificate and licensure in addition to Veterans Administration (VA) accreditation as a Veterans’ Benefits Attorney.

Ms. Rupprecht established her own firm, Joanne T. Rupprecht, Attorney & Counselor at Law, P.C. in Centennial, Colorado and since joined forces with Watson & Associates, LLC.

With her intellectual property experience, Ms. Rupprecht continues to advise businesses and those whom run them on protecting their most valuable asset … their ideas.
