Idris Keith is an associate at Watson & Associates, LLC. He is part of the firm’s Government Contracts group where he focuses his practice on all areas of government contracting, including formation and administration of government contracts, SBA 8a certification and 8a terminations and bid protest litigation. Mr. Keith provides government contracts advice to clients ranging from FORTUNE 100 companies to small businesses.

Mr. Keith has experience prosecuting and defending government contract bid protests before the Government Accountability Office (GAO), assisting government contractors with terminations for convenience and defending government contractors facing terminations for default, advising companies during Inspector General investigations, helping companies establish and implement successful compliance programs, guiding contractors through the contract claims disputes process before the Board of Contract Appeals (and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) proceedings), apprising contactors of various small business opportunities and obligations and the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), and defending government contractors with affiliation and subcontracting cases.

Mr. Keith also counsels clients on matters of ethics and fiscal law, including post-government employment and organization conflict of interest (OCI) laws, gift rules, and various federal appropriation and fiscal laws.

Prior to joining the Denver law firm of Watson & Associates, Mr. Keith presided over administrative hearings as a Hearings Officer with several state agencies. He resolved administrative disputes relating to labor/management related issues, and subsequently issues related to the federal government Medicaid Program. He distinguished himself as a clear and coherent thinker. Further, his written orders were recognized by superiors as a model for which others should follow.

Mr. Keith also has extensive experience in Title VII related matters. He investigated cases for a contractor for both the District of Columbia Human Rights Commission as well as the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. He also served as Deputy Director of a state fair employment practices agency where he supervised a staff of 34 employees including investigators, mediators and support staff.

In addition to his duties with Watson & Associates, Mr. Keith is currently a professor of Constitutional Law in the Denver area.
